complimentary close ˌcomplimentary ˈclose noun [countable usually singular]
the usual way of ending a formal business letter. If you address the letter `Dear Sir/​Madam', you end it `Yours faithfully'; if you address the letter to a particular person, you end it `Yours sincerely.'
